Whittlesea on Path to Sustainability
Whittlesea is a step closer to a sustainable future after launching the new
Cooper Street shared pathway and Epping TravelSmart project.
The $527,000 shared pathway links public transport and Epping's major shopping and health precincts.
The event also launched Epping's TravelSmart project which will see travel plans implemented at key sites including Epping Plaza, Northern Hospital, Plenty Valley Health Care and three local schools. Travel plans provide a strategic framework for encouraging travel behaviour change.
Funded under the Victorian Government's Local Area Access and TravelSmart programs, the projects aim to increase the use of sustainable transport in the area.
