New Bridge Connects Pedestrians and Cyclists

Spanning across busy Manningham Street, the newly launched Parkville Bridge has improved safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists using the Capital City Trail.

Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas and Education Minister and Member for Melbourne Bronwyn Pike, officially opened the new grade separated crossing point at a launch earlier this month.

The $2 million bridge is one of a range of projects to be funded by the Victorian Government as part of their $115 million commitment to improve cycling infrastructure and encourage the use of walking and cycling for transport under the Victorian Cycling Strategy.
