Drouin Walkable thanks to New Pathways
The launch of three new shared pathways has boosted walking and cycling in Drouin.
Delivered in partnership with Baw Baw Shire Council, the project received funding of $122,500 under the Victorian Government's TravelSmart and Local Area Access Program.
Connecting the western fringe and local housing estates to central Drouin, the pathways have improved pedestrian access and safety, as well as delivering a complete network for school students in the area.
The project also trialled an enzyme additive found to improve the safety and stability of gravel pathways decreasing the need for maintenance.
Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor, Adam Tyson praised the project for providing safe, accessible and connected pedestrian access to local destinations including community centres, facilities and transport interchanges.
