How do I enter my steps?

The [WalkSmart] Daily Emails are a great way to help you remember to enter your pedometer data.

If you enter data via email, here are some handy hints:

  1. Daily emails are most useful for people who have (or are aiming for) regular walking habits ie. walk every day, even though the amount of walking may vary between days.
  2. You can select the days you wish to receive emails by logging into WalkSmart, going to Edit my profile and scrolling down to Pedometer Options. You will then need to tick the appropriate boxes.
  3. To record your steps for the day, reply to the automated [WalkSmart] Daily Email and make sure that in the reply, your total number of steps appears like this: steps: [7654]
  4. Don't forget to reset your pedometer after recording your steps.
  5. If you want to enter data for a day but did not receive an email on that day, simply login to www.walksmart.net You can enter your steps for the current day or select a different day. If you make a mistake, you can also alter or delete a previous day's data.

If you prefer to enter the total number of steps accumulated over several days, and let the system average it out, you need to login to www.walksmart.net and go to Enter my steps. Type in the total number of steps then tick the days you wore the pedometer since the last data entry. If the number of steps does not include the current day, click on >>Enter data for a different day, select the appropriate day, then repeat the process above. Don't forget to reset your pedometer after you enter your data.

If you make a mistake, you can alter your entry or delete the entry altogether.
